Mackenzie Guest House - Edinburgh

Just spent two nights at the Mackenzie, and I couldn't ask for better hosts! Danny and Jasmine. The breakfasts were hearty and delicious. The room was spotless. Just a heads up, the shared bathroom was a bit cramped but manageable. Would return!

Chur! Awesome spot with a comfy room and a proper cook-up for brekkie. Just a heads-up, though, the shared bathroom was a bit of a squeeze. Still, heaps of good vibes here!

The spacious room with an ensuite was immaculate, with miniature toiletries and a lovely shower with consistent hot water that was a pleasure after a long day. Breakfast? Absolutely fantastic-full Scottish that was cooked to perfection and served alongside fresh coffee.

The shared bathrooms can feel a bit cramped during peak times. The floors creaked, made late-night trips to the loo a little nerve-wracking. The distance from the main attractions was a bit of a drag, especially if you're relying on the bus, which didn't seem to run as frequently on weekends. I also found the carpets needed a good cleaning, and the decor felt slightly dated, lacking that fresh, modern touch.

Inconsistent hot water supply!!! Creaky floors during late-night bathroom trips!!! Shared bathrooms can feel cramped, especially during peak hours!!! Carpets in need of cleaning could elevate the overall decor!!!

What a disappointment. The washroom was cramped, clearly not built for modern travelers. I asked for luggage storage and got hesitations, not the red carpet i expected. Surely as a guest, i should've been offered a complimentary upgrade or at least some acknowledgment of my discomforts. Almost left a good review, but how could i?

Loved the cozy vibe and clean room. The owners provided awesome tips, made exploring super easy. Bus stop right outside!

The guest house offered a great blend of quietness and accessibility. The owners were attentive to our needs. Storing our rental bikes indoors was a thoughtful touch that added to our comfort.

While the walk to the nearest tram station was manageable, it felt a bit longer after a long day of sightseeing.
